Saturday 5th June: A ladybird returns, Bordeaux Supérieur

I received a wonderful email from Pascale this week. She saw a ladybird on the foliage of one of the vines. This is an important milestone in the recovery of a terrain so heavily sterilised by pesticides back to a natural living part of our countryside. We know that this change will take a long time – maybe 3 years – so to find a ladybird so soon is a great achievement. A big big win for our environment.

Further discussions this week with Estelle regarding the wine. We have decided to register the wine under the Bordeaux Supérieur ”appellation” which will be better known in Australia than Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux – the new appellation for red wines in our area.
