Bordeaux Cabernet Franc 2013 – “Taste that wine!!”

There was an interesting article published recently by a couple of angry (rightly so!) very very senior and respectable Bordeaux wine producers protesting loudly about the inaccurate gross media assumption that Bordeaux 2013 is a complete disaster! Their message quite simply was ….. “Don’t read the media, come and taste the wines!”

I am just back in from the winery after tasting each of our Paradise Rescued 2013 Cabernet Franc barrels with our vigneronne Pascale Bervas. We all saw and acknowledge that 2013 was an incredibly challenging year in the vineyard. But that doesn’t mean that the world of Bordeaux wine ended? To write off the complete vintage on the basis of the weather reports is short sighted and incorrect news for all our customers.

Yes - we are most definately on Cloud9

Cabernet Franc 2013 – we are most definately on Cloud9

All of the operations and marketing team were present in Cardan, Bordeaux for the 2013 harvest. We too were all dismayed with the 40mm of rain that fell in less than 90 minutes just two days before harvest. It wasn’t an easy task to triple check every bunch of grapes and only select less than half of them for the winery. But it was still possible.

In a couple of short words, we are very happy, impressed and proud once again with our 2013 flagship Cabernet Franc. It has all the terroir characteristics and taste that continues to come from Hourcat Sud. We love it and the 2013 will again be a credit to the Paradise Rescued team and our brand.

Let us say again…please… “Don’t read the media, come and taste the wines!”
