Paradsie Rescued vigneronne raises a CabFranc glass to #CabernetDay

Paradise Rescued vigneronne Pascale Bervas raises a glass of beautiful Bordeaux full varietal Cabernet Franc to toast #CabernetDay

As far as I am concerned it’s a bit like Christmas. It’s great fun but wow – hasn’t it come around fast again? The countdown is on to global #CabernetDay 2014 – the fifth celebration of the Cabernet varietal wines, held traditionally on the final Thursday in August.

Around the world on Thursday 28th August, excellent producers of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon will be throwing open their doors to share the wonders of the Cabernet family to everyone. Countless parties and functions are being staged around the globe to celebrate the #CabernetDay, a unique blend of great wine and social media.

Three great Cabernet Francs for #Cabernet Day

Three great Cabernet Francs for celebrating #Cabernet Day

#CabernetDay is fun and different for a number of reasons. Firstly, it is the only wine day that encompasses two grape varietals. Even more fun is the fact the two famous stars of the show are genetically linked! Somewhere in the vineyards of South West France, more than 200 hundred years ago, Cabernet Franc got together with Sauvignon Blanc one night and the result was christened Cabernet Sauvignon – no big surprises really with that choice of name! So although we like to think of Cabernet Franc as the Princess of red wines and Cabernet Sauvignon as the King, in reality it’s a Mum and little son story! But what two perfectly complementary wines to celebrate together.

We are looking forward to sharing the fun with our customers on August 28th at the Paradise Rescued #CabernetDay function. We will be taste testing a number of different Cabernet Francs, starting with our own Cloud9, and moving on through Cabernet Sauvignon and blends from many corners of the world.

Don’t forget to drop into the #CabernetDay global Facebook page and also the #Cabernetday Australia page to let us know what you have planned for #CabernetDay. Cheers![/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
