The harvest is in, wine is fermenting and every day is full of continual activity in the winery! And after such a challenging growing season, the only question anyone asks is “how is the wine going?” At this stage of the wine production cycle…the best answer is always “no bad news so far”…and indeed that is our story so far. And our fingers are crossed that it continues that way. The Cloud9 Cabernet Franc colour looks gorgeous – as always – the smells and aromas are all positive and the fermentations are proceeding to plan. We will bring you an update in a couple of weeks after pressing when we will have a better idea of how the wine is developing.

In the meantime, we have been out and about a bit, catching up with friends and partners. And none better to meet again than Estelle Roumage at Chateau Lestrille in Saint Germain du Puch. Estelle and Lestrille have been achieving great things since we last wrote here.

Their flagship wine Le Secret was awarded a Coup de Coeur – the highest honour – in France’s famous wine annual book Guide Hachette for their 2010 wines. And to add to that, Chateau Lestrille was also awarded Best Merlot prize at the Swiss Vinea Association Mondial du Merlot competition. Take a quick look inside their on site shop at St Germain du Puch (between Creon and Libourne) and one can see their success growing rapidly. Great wine, beautiful brand on the up and up.

Congratulations Chateau Lestrille. Thank you again and always for all your support, encouragement and leading the way.
