Whether you think you can or you can't, you are absolutely right! Henry Ford

Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you are absolutely right! Henry Ford

This is our final blog of 2012. The end of the year is always a great time to reflect on what has happened in that year and to plan for the next one. I think our words from last year still look pretty good and I really hope that they helped some of you create a special year like ours has been.

Today I thought we might reflect on choices and decisions and what a key part they play in our future lives. The choices and decisions we make today will determine our futures – that’s obvious. Even if we decide not to act or do something, that is a choice and decision in itself! What is often overlooked is how we can shape those decisions and choices to our advantage. Tomorrow does not have to be a repeat of today, unless you choose it that way! I can hear the keyboards writing the replies already about how your circumstances are different, impossible, too hard, unchangeable….

How we think and the way in which we think influences our choices and therefore determines our course of action. Which means that if we want to experience a different outcome – let’s say our future lives – then we have to change the way we think about it? After a number of years of living a certain way and “enduring” its pleasures, this may be a hard concept to grasp. But if you think about it, it’s true. Life is the way we look at it! And if you want a different tomorrow, then the thinking that creates your tomorrow has to be different too.

Our future is determined by the choices we make today

Can we alter the way we think? Absolutely, yes! In fact sometimes when we have to, we can change very fast! So let’s make some changes for 2013 and it all starts with how we want to think. Set some positive goals for 2013, share them with us and get 2013 off to a flying start. We would love to hear your stories. You can do it – we believe in you.
